Oak Mistletoe (American Mistletoe) Phoradendron leucarpum (Phoradendron flavescens)
This plant's species name has changed from the one mentioned in most guide books.
Succulent parasite grows into the branches of trees eventually killing the branch and then the tree. Translucent white berries are about 1/4" wide.

Caryophyllaceae - Pink family
James' Nailwort Paronychia jamesii
Flower about 1/4" wide (no petals?) that grow in clusters. Bracts are very pointed, opening from a tiny star to a large star. Plant about 12" tall. Stem looks like bamboo with reddish nodes. Leaves are very thin.
