Wavyleaf Twistvine (Wavyleaf Twinevine) Funastrum crispum (Sarcostemma crispum, S. lobata)

Vine does not grow very large.  Longest leaves are about 3"-4" long.  Center vein has a gray stripe.  Leaf edges are red and "ruffled".  Flower cluster is about 2" wide.  Brown flowers are 3/8"-1/2" wide.  I have not seen a seed pod for this plant.

Wavyleaf Twistvine "B"

I did not get a picture of the flower.  Vine covered underbrush and twined upwards about 6 feet.  Leaves are 1"-4" long.  Center vein has a gray stripe.  Leaf edges are not ruffled.  Seed pod about 4" long.

Wavyleaf Twistvine "C"

This is a greenish flower.  I don't know if they would latter turn purple or if it is a variation.  These were in shade while the purple ones were in full sun.

White Twistvine Funastrum clausum  (Sarcostemma clausum)

Flower is all white.  Loose to tight clusters. Long seed pod.

Fringed Twistvine Funastrum cynanchoides ssp. cynanchoides (F. cynanchoides var. subtruncatum, Sarcostemma cynanchoides)

Flowers are in a loose to tight cluster.  Flowers are white with pink inside.  Leaves are very narrow, broadly lanceolate, or heart-shaped.   (Native of most of Texas)

 

Hartweg's Twistvine Funastrum cynanchoides ssp. heterophyllum (Sarcostemma cynanchoides var. hartwegii)

Flowers are in a tight cluster.  Flowers are white with rose tip.  Narrow leaves without prominent veining.   (Native of Texas, Trans Pecos)

 

Soft Twinevine Funastrum torreyi (Sarcostemma torreyi)

Bearded Swallow-wort (Thicket Threadvine) Cynanchum barbigerum

Tightly twisting vine with no tendrils, branches to 6 feet long.  Flowers about 1/8"-1/4" wide with a bulbous tube; very fuzzy, sweet scent.  Leaves 1/2"-1 1/2" long.

Pearl Milkweed Vine (Green Milkweed Vine, Milkvine, Netted Milkvine) Matelea reticulata

Flower is green with white streaks and a silver center, about 1/2" wide.  Low growing, twining vine with large heart shaped leaves, 3" wide x 4 1/4" long.  4" long seedpod has randomly spaced, fleshy, sharp spikes.
