Native Pecan Carya illinoinensis
Tree shown is about 40 feet tall with a 2 1/2 foot wide trunk. Nut is incased in a tough outer "skin" that is about 1" long. The pecan shell is 1/2" to 3/4" long. This is the tiny variety that everyone loves to eat but hates to shell.

Tree shown is about 20 feet tall (young). Trunks can grow several feet wide. Nut is incased in a tough outer "skin" that is about 1 1/2" long. (squirrel planted)
