Sow Thistle Sonchus asper

Dandelion-like flower about 5/8"-1" wide.  Plant grows to about 6 feet tall.  Leaf edges have sharp spines.

Dandelion Taraxacum officinale

Flower about 3/4" wide.  This type of Dandelion has a flower that stays close to the ground.  Seed puff ball.

Yellow Spiny Daisy Machaerantheraaustralis

Flower about 3/4" wide becomes a white puff ball.  Sprawlingplant shown is about 15" wide and 8" tall.  The plant looks and smells like a tiny conifer with woody branches and small, thick leaves.  The leaves look prickly but are soft.
