Polygonaceae - Knotweed family

Longleaf Wild Buckwheat (Longleaf Buckwheat, Scrub Buckwheat) Eriogonum longifolium

Greenish-yellow flower about 1/4" wide in clusters of fuzzy white buds with only one flower open at a time.  Fuzzy white hairs cover the plant.  Long leaves (thus the species name) at base only.  Plant grows 2-3 feet tall with flowers at ends of branching stalk.  Grows in sand.
