Pygmy Senna Cassia pumilio

Flower about 1/2" wide.  Plant grows to about 6" tall.

Fabaceae (Leguminosae) - Legume family

Two-leaved Senna Cassia roemeriana

Flower 1"-1 1/4" wide, yellow with brown veins.  Leaves are in pairs, 1"-2" long.  Plant grows to about 2 feet tall.  Pod is about 1" long with wall separating the beans  Plant grows in limy soil.

Indian Rush-pea Hoffmanseggia glauca

Flower about 1" wide.  Large edible tubers form about 6 inches underground.  Plant grows to about 12" tall.

Fabaceae (Leguminosae) - Legume family

Partridge-pea (Sleeping Plant, Prairie Senna) Chamaecrista fasciculata

5 petal yellow flower is about 1 1/2" wide.  Often one petal will curl to cover the center.  Banana-shaped stamen are red, grow to one side.  Compound leaves have 15 leaflets that fold if touched or in heat.  There is a large gland at the base of the leaf.  Fruit is in a flat pod.  Plant can reach 30" tall.  Hay and seed is toxic to animals.
