Onagraceae - Evening-Primrose family
False Gaura Stenosiphon linifolius
Flower is about 1/2" wide on terminal spikes that can reach 2 feet long. Spikes branch from the top of the single stem. Plant can reach 9 feet tall. Flower makes good honey.

Fabaceae (Leguminosae) - Legume family
Plume Dalea (Bigtop Dalea, Nineanther Prairie Clover, Arrow-weed) Dalea enneandra
Flower spike about 4" long with flowers about 1/4" long. The base of each flower are feathery. One to three smooth stems have multiple braches at the top. Leaves are about 1" long. Plant grows 3-5 feet tall. These plants make a good broom when bundled. Indians used the a cactus thorn attached to these straight stems as arrows to hunt small game.

Texas Frog Fruit (Sawtooth Frogfruit, Wedgeleaf Frogfruit, Turkey Tangle Frogfruit) Phyla nodiflora (P. incisa, Lippia nodiflora)
Entire flower ball about 1/4" wide. Groundcover stands about 4" tall.
