Fragrant Gaillardia (Gyp Indian Blanket) Gaillardia suavis
Flower ball about 3/4" wide. Yellow petals droop and fall off quickly. The red seed ball slowly turns white to become a papery puff ball. The plant is 1-2 feet tall with all the leaves at the base.

Indian Blanket (Firewheel) Gaillardia pulchella
Flower 1"-2" wide. Petals are often tipped in yellow. The plant is 1-2 feet tall and can fill fields. These flowers will bloom all summer, but the flowers are nicest in the spring.

Small Palafoxia Palafoxia callosa
Flower cluster about 1/2" wide, can be white to medium pink. Upright plant grows 18" tall. Stiff stems are very thin and branched. Narrow leaves to 2" long with smaller leaves at nodes. Plant grows in limy soil.

Flower cluster about 1" wide and grouped closer together. Stem is sticky.

Marsh Fleabane (Salt Marsh Fleabane) Pluchea purpurascens (P. odorata)
Flower about 1/4" tall without ray petals, in flat topped clusters 2"-3" wide. Leaves 2"-6" long with toothed margin and the smell of camphor. Plant grows 1-3 feet tall. Found growing in a swampy area at Lake Coleman. This plant has high salt tolerance and is considered a pest in many areas.
