Martyniaceae - Unicorn-plant family

Devil's-claw (Ram's Horn, Unicorn Plant) Proboscidea louisianica

Pinkish flower about 2" long. Largest leaves about 8" wide but can be 12" wide.& Sprawling plant has sticky hairs. When the seed pods dry the long beak splits into two claws. Young pods can be eaten like okra. Aroma is very unpleasant.
