Purple Sage (Texas Barometer Bush) Leucophyllum frutescens
Bush 5-8 feet tall with fuzzy gray/green leaves. Flowers about 1" wide and blooms after rains throughout the summer. Lavender flowers are fuzzy. Slow-growing, drought-tolerant. This plant has many cultivated varieties.

Fendler's Beardtongue (Fendler's Penstemon) Penstemon fendleri
Flower about 1" long along the sides of the spike. Plant grows 12"-18" tall. Ovate leaves reduce in size as they ascend.
